Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs the collection, processing, and usage of personal information by Object Remover ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") in connection with your access to and use of the Company's website located at https://objectremover.org ("Website").
PLEASE READ THIS POLICY CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR USING THE WEBSITE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT ACCESS OR USE THE WEBSITE.
For inquiries regarding this Policy, please refer to our Terms and Conditions or contact us at [email protected].
What This Service Does
Object Remover does one thing: you upload a short video, click the object you want removed, and we return the same clip with that object gone and the background behind it reconstructed. Everything in this Policy is about the data that flow through that one path.
Information We Collect
Personal Information
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you use our Service, including when you:
1. Create an Account - When you register for an account with us, we collect information such as your name, email address, and password.
2. Social Media Login - If you choose to register or log in to our Service using a Google or GitHub account, we may collect certain information from that profile. This may include your name, email address, and profile picture. What we receive depends on your privacy settings with that platform.
3. Payment Information - When you use our paid services, our payment processor (Stripe) collects the billing information needed to process your payment. We do not store your complete payment details on our servers.
4. Communications - We collect personal information you provide when you contact our customer support or communicate with us through email or other channels.
5. Marketing Preferences - Your preferences for receiving marketing communications from us.
Videos You Upload
The video you upload is the substance of this Service, so it gets its own section: see Your Videos below.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website or use our services, we automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our platform. This information is typically collected using cookies and similar tracking technologies and may include:
- Technical information about your device, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, language preferences, and time zone settings.
- Information about the pages you visit on our website, time spent on each page, links and buttons you click, entry and exit pages, referring websites or sources, and your overall browsing patterns and activity.
- Additionally, we collect technical data including URL clickstream data (the path you take through our site), error logs and performance data, session duration, and your interaction with page elements.
We use this information to analyze trends, administer the website, track users' movements around the site, and gather demographic information. This helps us improve our website, enhance user experience, troubleshoot technical issues, and better understand how our services are being used.
Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Service uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect and store information about how you interact with our Service.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us improve our Service and your experience by:
- Remembering your preferences and settings
- Keeping you logged in to your account
- Understanding how you use our Service
Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following types of cookies:
1. Essential Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the Service to function properly. They enable core features like security, account authentication, and remembering your preferences. You cannot opt out of these cookies.
2. Analytics Cookies: These help us understand how visitors interact with our Service. We use two analytics providers, and they behave differently: Plausible Analytics runs without cookies at all, while Google Analytics sets cookies only if you allow it in the consent banner. Declining leaves the Service fully functional.
3. Functional Cookies: These cookies allow our Service to remember choices you make, such as your language and your analytics consent decision.
We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell your personal information.
Tracking Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use:
- Local Storage: Technologies like HTML5 to store data on your browser or device for better performance and to enhance your experience. The editor uses local browser storage to hold your work in progress.
- Analytics Services: As described above, Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics.
Your Choices
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- Delete cookies from your browser
- Block cookies by activating the setting on your browser to refuse all or some cookies
- Set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie
If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our Service may become inaccessible or not function properly.

Your Videos
Where They Go
When you upload a clip, it is stored in our object storage and served back to you through our content delivery network. To produce the result, the clip is then sent to the two AI processors that do the work:
- Replicate, which hosts Meta's SAM 2 model. It receives your clip and the points you clicked, and returns a mask that follows the object through the frames.
- Bria AI, which receives your clip and that mask, erases the marked area, and reconstructs the background behind it.
These are the only AI processors your video reaches. If we add or change one, this Policy will be updated before the change takes effect.
What We Do Not Send
We do not share your account ID, email address, real name, or payment information with these processors. Only the clip, the points you placed, and the mask derived from them are transmitted — the material required to fulfil the request.
People in Your Videos
Removing a person, or removing something from a shot that contains people, is a normal use of this Service, so your uploads will often contain identifiable faces.
We do not run facial recognition, we do not build face templates or other biometric identifiers, and we do not use the faces in your footage to identify anyone or to enrich any profile. The frames are processed to produce the output you asked for, and for nothing else.
You must hold the rights to the footage you upload, including the rights of every identifiable person in it. Do not upload video of another person without that person's permission.
We Do Not Train On Your Videos
We do not operate our own models, and we do not use your uploads or your results to train, fine-tune, or evaluate one. We do not publish your videos, feature them, or make them available to other users; there is no public gallery on this Service. The samples shown on our marketing pages are our own material, produced by us for that purpose.
What the two AI processors above do with the material we send them is governed by their terms, not ours. We have selected them for this Service and we send them the minimum described above, but if the answer matters to you, read Replicate's and Bria AI's own policies before uploading footage you consider sensitive.
Watermarks
Depending on your plan, output downloaded from the Service may carry a visible watermark. The watermark is applied to the file we deliver; it does not change what we store or who can see it.
Retention of Your Personal Data
We keep your Personal Data only as long as needed for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. This includes maintaining your information to fulfil our service obligations, comply with legal requirements, resolve any disputes, and enforce our agreements and policies.
Various factors guide our data retention practices, including applicable laws, the type of information we hold, and our business needs. For example, certain laws may require us to store specific information for defined periods.
Videos and results are retained in your account until you delete them or delete your account. We do not currently expire them on a fixed schedule, so if you want a clip gone sooner, delete it — see the next section.
Operational records are kept on shorter cycles: processing-callback logs are purged after 30 days, and usage data is generally retained for shorter periods than Personal Data, except where longer retention helps us secure the Service or is legally mandated.
Upon account deletion, or when you specifically request removal of your information, we'll promptly delete your Personal Data from our active databases, except where ongoing retention serves legitimate legal or business purposes.
Delete Your Personal Data
You have the right to delete or request our assistance in deleting the Personal Data we've collected about you.
Our Service provides tools that allow you to remove certain information directly. You can manage your personal information at any time by signing into your account and accessing the account settings section designed for this purpose, including deleting your account yourself from the Danger Zone in your settings.
If you need more comprehensive data management, you can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you've shared with us. We'll respond to these requests in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our internal procedures.
When processing deletion requests, we'll verify your identity to protect your privacy and will notify you once your request has been completed. While we strive to honour all legitimate deletion requests, certain information may be retained if required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes.
Security of Your Personal Data
We take the security of your Personal Data seriously. Our systems incorporate appropriate safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, please understand that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You also play an important role in protecting your information. We recommend securing your devices with all available security features, such as strong passwords, biometric authentication (like fingerprint locks), and device encryption. These measures help safeguard access to your account and any Personal Data stored or processed on your devices.
For optimal protection, we encourage you to keep your account credentials confidential and notify us promptly of any suspicious activity related to your account.
Opting Out of Information Use
We collect and use personal information to enhance your experience, improve our services, and provide relevant content. We respect your privacy choices and offer several options to control how your information is used:
1. Cookie Management: You can decline analytics cookies in our consent banner, or adjust your browser settings to decline cookies. The Service remains fully usable either way.
2. Marketing Communications: You can unsubscribe from promotional messages by using the "Unsubscribe" link in our emails or by contacting us directly.
3. Account Controls: You can update your privacy preferences through your account settings. You can also delete your account yourself at any time from the Danger Zone section of your account settings; you do not need to email us to do so. Upon deletion, we'll handle your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Even after opting out, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. For any privacy-related requests or questions, please reach out to [email protected].
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or services. When we make changes, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
For significant changes affecting how we use your Personal Data — including any change to the list of AI processors in Your Videos — we'll notify you through email or website notices.
We recommend checking this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our information practices. Your continued use of our Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
GDPR Compliance
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding the processing of your personal data.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on:
- Your consent (such as for newsletter subscriptions and analytics cookies)
- Contractual necessity (when needed to provide our services or process payments)
- Our legitimate interests (to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and communicate important updates)
- Legal obligations (when required by applicable laws)
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have several rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access your data
- Right to correct inaccurate information
- Right to request erasure of your data
- Right to restrict how we process your data
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to certain processing activities
- Right to withdraw consent at any time
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Your Rights
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
- Delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA
- Limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
